Anthony L. HalcombAnthony L. Halcomb

“Anthony Halcomb’s story is indeed a modern day tale of success.”

Nominated by the Parker Hill/Fenway Neighborhood Service Center

Parker Hill/Fenway Neighborhood Service Center (NSC) recognizes Anthony Halcomb for his unwavering support and dedication to their agency.

For over four years, Anthony Halcomb has made himself available to lend a hand whenever necessary. And for a neighborhood center as busy as the one in Parker Hill, it means he has become a permanent fixture there - a person the agency constantly relies on.

  • He volunteers with the senior center, setting up and breaking down everything needed for events.
  • He is an indispensable asset to the agency’s food pantry, making trips to the food bank, assisting with the shopping, shouldering the heavy lifting, and keeping the pantry stocked and organized.
  • Says Milly Arbaje, Director of the Parker Hill/Fenway NSC, “Tony is the only guy who has remained consistent with us over the years. He is very dedicated.”

Anthony Halcomb’s story is indeed a modern day tale of success.

Not too long ago he was homeless in Texas.

Through the motivation of his mother, he moved to Boston for the opportunity to start over, become independent and be able to provide for his son.

This past year, through Parker Hill/Fenway’s collaborative with the Wentworth Institute of Technology, Anthony started taking classes.

It wasn’t long before he was awarded a scholarship to Bunker Hill Community College, where he is studying full-time to become a graphic designer.

But still, Anthony can frequently be found at the Parker Hill/Fenway NSC, doing his homework in their computer lab so that he is ready at a moment’s notice if help is needed.

“He is definitely a go-getter. He is very serious about what he does, he is very serious about helping us out, he is very serious about moving ahead in life and doing something for Parker Hill/Fenway and for himself and we are very proud of him,” says Milly Arbaje.

Anthony Halcomb’s story serves as a source of motivation for many, and for that, he says, he is most proud.
