Milagros Arbaje Appointed Director of ABCDS Parker Hill/Fenway

Robert M. Coard, President/CEO of Action for Boston Community Development,
Inc. (ABCD) has appointed Milagros Arbaje as the Director of the ABCD ParkerHill/Fenway
Neighborhood Service Center (NSC).
Arbaje received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Boston
College with a major in Psychology and a minor in Education and Women
Studies. Following that, she received her Masters Degree from Boston
College in Social Work, majoring in Clinical Social Work. She is a licensed
certified social worker, and enjoys volunteering at the Roxbury Presbyterian
Church.
Arbaje has a wide range of experiences in the human service
field. In her most recent role, Arabje worked for the Brookside Community
Health Center as an OB Counselor. In this capacity, she provided complete
screenings and evaluations to high risk pregnant and parenting women;
facilitated domestic violence and teen mother support groups; and provided
case management, referrals, and advocacy to the high risk OB population.
In addition, Arbaje has worked at the ABCD LearningWorks,
ABCD Career Ladder and ABCD SummerWorks programs, where she was able
to put her work and educational experiences to use.
Arbaje has planned and taught GED education to low-income
adults as an Adult Education Instructor; administered assessment instruments
for the ABCD Career Ladder program; developed adult education curriculums;
and provided intensive case management for Black and Latino males.
In addition, Arbaje has demonstrated her management skills
as a Coordinator of the ABCD SummerWorks program. In this capacity, she
was responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of several counselors
and for ensuring the job placement and payroll distribution for 90 at-risk
youths.
